Alajuela, Costa RicaJob Description:Johnson & Johnson is hiring for an EH&S Specialist to join our team located in Shockwave Medical Costa Rica.Fueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we’re developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments. Ready to join a team that’s pioneering the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Our Shockwave Medical portfolio aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.Position OverviewEH&S specialist will provide support to implement and monitor the environment, health, and safety programs at our Costa Rica site.Essential Job Functions
  • Ensures compliance with local EH&S regulations.
  • Provides technical expertise for EH&S programs.
  • Conducts job hazard analyses and risk assessments.
  • Performs safety audits, safety observations and inspections.
  • Assists with the development and delivery of EH&S training.
  • Assists to conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Drives corrective and preventive actions management process.
  • Reviews new hazardous materials, new processes, new equipment to ensure they meet the EH&S requirements.
  • Reviews and maintain SDS database and site chemical inventories.
  • Supports ISO 14001 process and its maintenance once implemented.
  • Supports Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects once implemented.
  • Supports the hazardous and biologic waste programs by managing accumulation containers, labeling, shipping preparation inventories and manifest recordkeeping.
  • Participates in the emergency response team.
  • Keeps track of key performance indicators.
  • Support the coordination of infirmary services, environmental community projects, ergonomics, and other EH&S special projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 0-1 years of related experience. Experience in clean room manufacturing a plus.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory agencies and requirements.
  • Uses persuasive techniques to influence others without reliance on formal authority.
  • Experience with EH&S tracking systems.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements.
  • Flexible schedule may be required.
  • High proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • There may be continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day).
  • Passport & US Visa not required but a plus.
