- Providing support to ensure SLAs in payroll processing and Ticket Resolution are met while showing customer orientation to address inquiries from employees and stakeholders.
- Following processes assigned to prepare and validate information with deep understanding of calculations and payroll concepts, to avoid flaws in the payroll process, which might cause legal issues.
- Processing sick leaves, maternity leave, validate the correct vacation and time off balance for all Costa Rica employees, and all special concepts that will have direct impact in each payroll cycle.
- Applying the knowledge of the elements of payroll processing to ensure accuracy and good standards are maintained during the cycle processes, ensuring compliance with Stryker internal controllership and country regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing and processing bank account information changes and inclusions for new employees.
- Validating and managing all matters regarding terminations, garnishments, correct bonus applications and focusing on the correct local law application.
- Protect and manage confidential information.
- Monitor compliance with local authorities’ regulations.
- Ensure successful payroll execution for Manufacturing, using internal systems and third-party punch clock solutions.
- Oversee payroll processing, calculations, and adjustments in line with Costa Rican labor laws and internal policies.
- Guarantee accuracy in the preparation and application of payroll calculations including local law regulation and internal policies of time off, bonus (if applicable) all employees of the supported entities.
- Support the review and approval process of time off requests, sick leaves, maternity leave, and all special concepts that will have an impact on each payroll cycle.
- Validate and review sensitive and confidential information (for current employees and new hires).
- Support the process of bank account creation for new hires.
- Maintain and update headcount distribution files tailored to organizational needs.
- Safeguard sensitive employee information and support the setup process for new hires.
- Monitor compliance with legal requirements and ensure alignment with corporate policies.
- Support onboarding new hires and deliver targeted payroll training to internal and external stakeholders, regardless of location or organizational level.
- Manage ADP configuration and coordinate system updates with appropriate internal and external teams.
- Degree in accounting or finance
- Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS
- Fluent spoken and written English (60%) and Spanish. Any other language skills are a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, mainly Excel.
- Experience in Finance/Payroll related systems, (SAP, Black Line & SOFTLAND systems knowledge are a big plus).
- 2+ years of experience working in Payroll related processes in a Manufacturing plant with both weekly and monthly payroll, with demonstrated proficiency in Costa Rica labor law and procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office technology.
- Proficiency in email and calendar systems, preferably Microsoft Outlook
- Demonstrated detail-orientation
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, learn new concepts/processes and improve current processes.
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and multi-task
- Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to communicate complicated issues effectively
