- Work with Global Head of Conflicts and Global Conflicts Manager to assist with conflict checking new clients and matters across various jurisdictions, utilizing internal and external databases for analysis and decision making.
- Communicate with Partners and other professionals to address potential conflicts of interest issues and draft necessary documentation, such as waiver/consent language and engagement letters.
- Support and resolve general conflict issues and cross-regional conflicts, maintaining thorough and accurate records to ensure database integrity.
- Assist in training staff in understanding the firm's new matter intake, conflicts, and compliance procedures.
- Facilitate communication between team members and stakeholders, acting as a point of contact.
- Assist with information barriers and document security management as needed, ensuring protocols safeguard sensitive information and comply with firm-wide security standards.
- Proactively communicate complex conflicts questions and compliance issues with department leadership, providing analysis and recommendations to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet evolving position requirements.
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Experience in conflict of interest acquired at international law firms or within corporate legal departments is preferred.
- Business international level of English – both written and oral.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage numerous requests, with a methodical approach focusing on accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, and quality.
- Knowledge of Intapp conflict checking, ethical wall, and business intake software is preferred, along with understanding and experience of business continuity requirements and implementations.
- Stay current with recent research and thinking on ethics and conflicts best practices and rules across jurisdictions in which the firm has offices, maintaining a sophisticated, relevant base of knowledge in these areas.
- Highly collaborative and able to work in a global environment, accommodating different time zones, and being a team player who can work effectively at all levels of an organization.
- Drive out decisions and recommendations, demonstrating excellent customer/client-facing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to differing demands, prioritizing tasks and ensuring complete 'follow through' on operational issues.
- Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to resolve problems or issues using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, or government law.
- Can carry out responsibilities in a way that supports the practice's values and promotes equal opportunities and diversity principles, responding adeptly to challenges and issues as they arise.
- Able to thrive under pressure and multi-task, with extensive experience working with layers of engagement and approval.
