As a Mac Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our macOS-based systems and infrastructure.
Your expertise in Mac system and security architecture will be instrumental in monitoring, detecting, and responding to potential security threats.
**Requirements**:
- Understanding of Mac and Windows systems and security architecture to help with monitoring / alert response.
(focused on Mac)
- Security and system architecture on macOS is markedly different than on Windows
- Knowledge of Mac architecture can help with identifying abnormal / unexpected behavior for better triaging and escalation
- Level of effort is high, as this requires significant time and training to gain this knowledge.
Additionally, Apple frequently makes changes to their system architecture, requiring ongoing efforts to learn and understand changes
- Knowledge of Mac security toolsets
- Our client is currently using Jamf (MDM), Jamf Protect (anti-malware), Cybereason (EDR), and Darktrace (IDS/IPS)
- Knowledge of macOS security tools will help make sure our tools can provide proper visibility into and protection of our Macs
- Level of effort is high, as there are a large number of Mac-specific security tools in addition to cross-platform security tools.
