As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress sites and plugins.
We are looking for someone that has a good understanding of WordPress, PHP and front-end development.
You will be joining our team of Devs with a strong work ethic, in a fun, relaxed environment.
Typical duties and responsibilities:
- Implementing custom features and functionality using mínimal plugins
- Ensuring high-performance, high-availability, and managing all technical aspects of our WordPress sites
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
- Participate in the development and deployment of responsive WordPress websites
- Use JavaScript, HTML & CSS to build webpages from Photoshop & XD files, focusing on attention to detail
- Institute best practices to ensure fast page loading, SEO structure and maintainable code
- Cross-browser and functional testing of all website updates
- Create highly customized word press themes/plugins.
- Tailor modules and plugins to meet business requirements
- Work closely with team members & project managers to provide updates
Requirements and qualifications
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented PHP & PHP development for WordPress
- 2+ years of experience of front-end development using PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery & SQL
- Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working WordPress pages
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML), including WordPress REST API
- Ability to communicate directly with peers, managers, and end users
- Understanding the benefits of SEO and the development skills to support SEO are a plus.
- Understanding of code versioning tools a plus
