Product Development EngineerAs our Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for create custom designs using Solidworks and work directly with customers' engineers to create solutions, meet deadlines, and provide customer satisfaction throughout the development and launch cycle.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:· You will be expected to be a member of multiple project teams as a product development engineer.· Plan, create and document technical proposals and qualification tests of connectors, cables & sub-assemblies of more complex products.· Assist with task planning and cost estimating independently or with other team members domestically or abroad.· Plan and communicate with team members overseas is required and may take place outside of regular work hours. You may be required to travel domestically and internationally to visit customers, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities.· Perform diverse design and process activities such as:· Mechanical design of:o Plastic and sheet metal enclosures,o Electrical contacts/connectors,o Injection molded plastics,o Die cast parts,o Machined parts,o Electrical cables· Able to read and understand 3D CAD modeling, 2D Drawings.· Producing and reviewing product documentation including drawings, proposals, and technical reports under guidance.· Perform testing, data collection and analysis, research, and prototype creation.· Quality control initiatives including planning for inspection and measurement techniques both in the US and overseas.· Work with factory engineers on assigned projects to develop, debate, select and implement controls and counter measures using scientific tools such as dFMEA, pFMEA, cause & effect diagrams.· Be an active participant in customer sales activities.· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education & Experience Requirements:· BSME, BS Physics or similar technical degree.· At least one year of experience in R&D or a design position via internship or full-time equivalent.· Experience in mechanical and electrical testing.· Ability to work on multiple development projects simultaneously, able to understand concepts of design of components for plastics injection molding, metal forming/stamping, and electro-mechanical devices.· Familiarity with basic risk analysis activities (DFMEA, PFMEA) and compute tolerance stacksWhat you should know about us:We believe there is a better way to bring medical devices to market.
