Will you join us?Role SummarySherwood is currently seeking a CAD Technician III to support our growing, progressive and multidisciplinary engineering firm. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of Sherwood’s global team, collaborating with engineering and operations disciplines to cocreate solutions to a variety of organizational challenges. The CAD Technician III is a senior-level drafter responsible for leading and producing high-quality, complex civil infrastructure drawings and deliverables. This role involves mentoring junior staff, coordinating across disciplines, and ensuring compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements. They will support project teams in advanced CAD workflows, BIM/GIS integration, and quality control processes.Minimum Skills
Typically 5+ years of experience in the industry
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and Autocad
Proficiency in sheet and plan setup
Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and Google Apps
Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, or similar tools
Strong knowledge of industry information and current with industry standards
Demonstrated leadership in CAD production teams
Strong organizational and file management skills
Time management skills to work with multiple projects and competing deadlines
Excellent communication and mentoring ability
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Intermediate English speaking, writing and reading skills
Preferred Skills
Technical degree from Technical/Professional High School, INA or equivalent
Previous experience as a CAD Technician/Drafter or related position
Experience/knowledge in land development, site development, infrastructure
Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D and GIS
Experience with BIM workflows and interoperability of Civil 3D, Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Coordination experience with engineering, architectural, or survey disciplines
QA/QC experience or training
Expected Outcomes
Lead production of complex drawing packages including grading, utilities, cross-sections, pavements and details
Train and mentor Level I/II CAD technicians
Coordinate with engineers to develop efficient and accurate drawing sets
Help set up and manage CAD templates and project standards
Review and perform QA/QC of drawings for accuracy and compliance
Implement improvements to workflows and tools
